CNGI Domestic/ International Exchange Point
CNGI-6IX, the domestic/international exchange point, located in Beijing , connects other CNGI network backbones undertaken by China Telecom, China Unicom, China Netcom/CSTNET, China Mobile, and China Railcom, which constitute the whole nationwide next generation Internet backbones, providing an open trial environment for the next generation Internet research of 300 CNGI access networks.
CNGI-6IX provides high-speed connection service to other international research networks, such as Internet2 of America at the speed of 155Mbps-2.5Gbps, GEANT2 of Europe at the speed of 1Gbps-2.5Gbps and APAN of Asia-pacific at the speed of 1Gbps. These international connections provide an open environment to Chinese scientists over CNGI network backbones for the international collaborative next generation Internet research.
