CNGI-CERNET2 network center mainly takes the responsibility of network operation and maintenance, and fulfills the functions as bellows:
Transport Network Operating Center : providing the services of real-time monitoring on the transmission links and equipment status provided for CNGI project, and troubleshooting.
Network Operation Center : providing the services of the configuration management, trouble management, performance management, safety management and charging management, including status monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analyzing, safety management, and so on. Among the above, the research on charging mode is emphasized.
Network Information Center : providing the services of the registration, domain name service, catalogue service and information release, which includes IP address assignment, domain name registration and domain name system maintenance and so on.
Network Security Center : providing the safety support for network backbone operation, including safety monitoring and identification service and so on.
Technical Test and Application Display Center : establishing the trial environment for next generation Internet technical test, home-made productions test and application demonstration.
